Director, Information Technology - Enterprise Services

SUMMARY:   

The Director Information Technology – Enterprise Services is responsible for actively partnering with stakeholders to host, support, and deliver large-scale web-applications, internal infrastructure, and enterprise business services.  With a strong emphasis on automation and quality of work, this role is responsible for driving improvement measures and migration activities while promoting a positive, results-oriented environment. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep experience in cloud migration processes, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), business systems management, and large user base web-application delivery and support. Ideally s/he would have experience migrating major platforms from an on-prem/hosted solution to a cloud provider, such as Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this position works closely with business leadership from across the operational and functional areas of the company, understands the needs of other areas and serves as a partner and services provider to these organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical and Service Leadership

  • Model a collaborative style that emphasizes teamwork, values the contributions of each team member, and encourages participation in achieving results for the organization and its customers.
  • Interact with Questar’s leaders giving status updates and detailed thoughts into the options we have for systems that support business functions to support the scaling of those functions as the organization grows.
  • Display excellent communication skills by being able to converse with technical and non-technical people; write concise and clear reports; and make effective presentations.
  • Lead through measurement - Develop a fundamental core of accountability through the use of metrics and KPIs.
  • Develop and support the ability for infrastructure to scale to meet business demands including:  performance and load testing, on-premise and off-premise infrastructure and application support, event management, and cloud management.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of enterprise cloud migration projects, as well as ongoing cloud operations
  • Ensure alignment of all major infrastructure decisions and investments with the overall cloud migration strategy and target architecture

Support and Vendor Integration

  • Deliver technology services and support across a wide range of infrastructure and applications (both internally and externally hosted)
  • Responsible for the continuous monitoring and support automation of key technologies throughout IT in order to provide predictive support response.
  • Responsible for the continuous refinement of enterprise level SLAs, metrics, and KPIs which are used to track and hold the organization accountable for the delivery of customer experience results. 
  • Stand up the organization’s business architecture discipline and create a prioritized roadmap for the technological enablement and operations of critical business systems
  • Document and improve business processes
  • Perform formal market analysis
  • Execute sourcing RFIs and RFPs
  • Negotiate contracts in conjunction with legal and finance partners
  • Manage the successful roll-out and system integration of vendor solutions with internal and external partners
  • Manage ongoing software licensing and maintenance budgets
  • Develop and implement cloud migration strategies
  • Develop continuous integration and delivery strategies

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible IT leadership and technology experience
  • A client-centric perspective and the ability to lead and inspire an organization
  • Experience developing business architecture, IT, and vendor strategies
  • Must have implementation experience and in-depth understanding of Microsoft and Amazon cloud technologies, services, and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
