Human Resources Assistant - Temporary Assignment


Questar Assessment has a great opportunity for a temporary experienced Human Resources Assistant to work at our Scoring Services location in East Bloomington, across from the Mall of America. 

This is a temporary assignment beginning in April and ending in May/June.  Hours will be Monday - Friday. 30 hours per week, with some flexibility on start/end times between 7:00am and 6:00pm. 


  • Provide on-site support to employees on a variety of HR and payroll related questions. 
  • Provide administrative support to scoring services staff: supporting the recruiting and selection of seasonal readers, preparing materials and other general administrative support.
  • Enters new hires, terminations, and other employment changes for seasonal staff in the Payroll/HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Ensure all employment paperwork, such as W-4s, I-9s, and confidentiality forms, etc. are properly completed and filed appropriately.
  • Anticipate needs and prioritize incoming issues, requests and inquiries, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.  Consult with the HR Business Partner/HR Director in determining the appropriate course of action, referral or response. 
  • Manage workflow independently and follow through to successful completion.


  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or other closely related field.  Equivalent education and experience may be substituted for the degree.


  • Three (3) years of experience providing administrative support to a Human Resources Department.
  • General HR knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates high quality, professional writing and verbal communication skills that project a positive image of the business.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate needs, make sound recommendations and propose alternative solutions, and take appropriate and timely action to address issues and resolve problems.
  • Ability to maintain calm under pressure and demonstrates adaptability during times of change or ambiguity.
  • High degree of diplomacy and discretion in working with confidential information.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to be on-time and dependable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
