Operations Manager - System Support

Position Summary: 

The Operations Manager-System Support position is responsible for managing people and processes used for verifying and validating hard-copy document and computer processing setup.  They assist in problem resolution in a production environment for high-stakes educational testing projects. The position requires experience with the Questar proprietary software and processes.


  • Prepares initial set-up of software applications for internal users 
  • Analyzes live data and implements corrective procedures and/or actions
  • Provides ideas and assists in implementation of new processes/procedures to improve efficiency of operations
  • Reviews project schedules to ensure tasks are documented and meet target dates for project requirements
  • Provides project analysis to assist in risk management and mitigation
  • Provides ideas and assists in implementation of new processes/procedures to improve efficiency of operations 
  • Provides training to newly-hired Systems Analysts
  • Conducts Quality Control reviews of live data and initiates corrective action as required
  • Maintains documentation associated with position, department and projects
  • Attends daily and weekly departmental meetings and weekly project status and client meetings if System Support input is required
  • Provides performance feedback and completes annual reviews on team members

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or Business field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred



  • 5-10 years experience with data collection (hardware systems and web applications) and data processing systems
  • Extensive background in Microsoft Office products, especially MS Excel and MS Access
  • Proven experience with quality control processes and attention to detail
  • Proven capability of training peers on task-oriented jobs and ability to develop and maintain documentation



  • Experience developing and implementing a quality control plan to validate expected system outputs
  • Ability to think logically, critically and constructively about complex problems and propose/document solutions that address client requirements.
  • Self-motived with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage changing priorities and work flexible hours to meet the needs of time sensitive projects
