Operations System Analyst

Position Summary: 

The Systems Analyst position is responsible for verifying and validating computer processing and data accuracy in proprietary applications and developing document image, OMR and OCR scan capture programs.  He/she assists in problem resolution in a production environment for high-stakes educational testing projects. The position involves extensive collaboration with others in the department and within other groups of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document requirements for educational assessment projects
  • Develop testing plans for processing documents and data based on specifications for individual projects
  • Prepares initial set-up of software applications for internal users
  • Creates project unique scan capture profiles within scanning software applications
  • Analyzes live data and implements corrective procedures and/or actions
  • Provides ideas and assists in implementation of new processes/procedures to improve efficiency of operations
  • Reviews project schedules to ensure tasks are documented and meet target dates for project requirements
  • Manage multiple job functions simultaneously
  • Notifies Manager in a timely manner on task progress and issues
  • Provides project analysis to assist in risk management and mitigation
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or Business field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience with data collection (hardware systems and web applications) and data processing system
  • Background in Microsoft Office products, especially MS Excel, MS Access (or other database tools
  • Proven experience with quality control processes and attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and implementing a quality control plan to validate expected system outputs
  • Ability to think logically, critically and constructively about complex problems and propose/document solutions that address client requirements.
  • Self-motived with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, manage changing priorities and work flexible hours to meet the needs of time sensitive projects
