Senior Program Manager


The Senior Program Manager will be for responsible for supporting and helping drive a cross-functional team subject matter experts (SMEs) and ensuring the team successfully delivers client projects on-time and on budget according to the defined scope, timeline, and cost.  This includes initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of state summative assessments programs. A strong desire and ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and is critical.  The Senior Program Manager collaborates with Product Management, Operations, Technology Team, Assessment Design and Psychometrics, Scoring Services, Publishing, Marketing, Sales and external partners.


  • Provide high-level customer service to all internal and external clients
  • Provide context to all situations in regards to education assessment industry knowledge to help facilitate conversations and prioritize and understand requirements
  • Supports the State Director in  Contract Change Requests and participation in RFP responses, as appropriate, and in partnership with Sales
  • Serve as the primary interface for program with the SMEs
  • Document key business rules and high-level requirements to capture client/project goals; work closely with Business Analysts to translate into effective functional specifications
  • Ensure appropriate reporting of information to internal teams
  • Provide comprehensive and on-going risk management
  • Drive cross-departmental schedules across multiple projects and anticipate technical roadblocks and challenges
  • Assist management in mentoring new Project Managers to the organization, as requested
  • Provide status updates to and escalate issues as necessary to the State Director and the Vice President, Partner Effectiveness
  • Effectively engage and present to all levels within the organization, from individual contributors to executives

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of the K-12 education assessment industry (e.g. common core standards, competitors, RFP process)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project management role
  • Minimum 2 years’ contract management
  • Strong knowledge of Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience with customer relationship management


  • PMP
  • Advanced degree
  • Previous experience using JIRA


  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
